About Avery - URGENT!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

AVERY IS LOCATED IN ARKANSAS. SHE IS LISTED FOR ADOPTION IN ALL OF THE STATES WE OFFER TRANSPORT TO OR NEAR. SHE WILL REMAIN IN ARKANSAS UNTIL ADOPTED, AT WHICH TIME SHE WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO HER NEW FAMILY.

4.17.18 Avery has become urgent due to her foster mom's summer travel plans. Unfortunately, our rescue does not have the funds to board her and we have no open fosters that can take her. So it is urgent that she get adopted before her foster mom's next out of town trip. Please consider making her part of your family!

2.13.18 Avery came to us from a high kill shelter, where she had come in as a stray and was never claimed. She was in very bad condition at the shelter and was going to be euthanized but thankfully a kind lady agreed to take her in as a foster, allowing us to rescue her. We are so happy we did! Avery is such a sweet, loving girl. And smart! Since being in her foster home, she has learned so much. She is now completely house trained, crate trained, she knows many basic commands such as sit, stay, come, and she is leash trained, although she still pulls on the leash a bit and is still working on that. Her foster mom has done an amazing job teaching her how to be part of a family and how to be a good girl, in an effort to make her more adoptable. Avery had heartworms when we got her out of the shelter, but we have already had her treated and she has recovered well. She has also been spayed and is current on all of her vaccinations. She is very affectionate and loves to crawl into your lap and curl up like a baby. Avery has gotten along well with most other dogs, but needs proper introductions. As long as she is introduced properly, she does fine. She would not be a good candidate for a home with a very dominant/assertive dog. But as long as the other dog in the home is mild mannered, she should be ok. She would also be happy to be an only dog. Avery is fairly energetic and needs a family who will give her plenty of exercise. She loves to play and run so she would make a fantastic running/hiking buddy if you are so inclined. If not, she would be content to run off her energy playing with you in a fenced yard. But it would be important to give her that opportunity daily. We believe Avery is a young adult, probably around 2 years old. She weighs about 40lbs. She rides well in a car so she would be a great riding buddy as well. All she needs is a family of her own. Please consider opening your heart and home to this beautiful girl. She is so deserving and she will be so grateful. You won't be sorry. For more info, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com
