Nykie is 4 years old and is a F1 Golden Doodle. She weighs 41lbs. She is a friendly, well adjusted, happy girl who will make a wonderful addition to any home. Nykie is housetrained to use a doggy door, but of course accidents should be expected at first, until she learns the new home and routine, as with any dog going to a new home. Nykie gets along well with other dogs and is friendly with all people. She has a wonderful disposition. Nykie's adoption fee is more than our usual fee. The reason for this is that we have to think of the big rescue picture. We know that we will have countless people who will want to adopt her, and we are thankful for that. Sadly, there are many dogs in our rescue who are not as fortunate and will be here long term. And there are many who come to us with extensive medical needs. Nothing is free and we have to pay for veterinary services like everyone else does. We get no funding from anyone - our rescue is funded solely on adoption fees and the occasional donation. When we get cases like Nykie, we use the extra adoption fee to help pay for these things. We have dogs that have been with us for months, waiting on heartworm treatment. We are constantly taking in dogs who need surgeries, have extensive injuries or illnesses, and we have to pay for these things some how. Some will agree with this. Some won't. We will not haggle over the adoption fee. If you bought Nykie from the breeder, she would have cost $2000 and you would have had to pay to have her spayed. Our adoption fee is $750 and we have already had her spayed, brought up to date on shots, microchipped, dewormed, and she will be vet checked again the week before she leaves for her new home. We feel this is a reasonable fee and appreciate your understanding. For more info, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com More about NykieGood with Dogs, Good with Kids Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
