Print an adoption flyer for Sunny! PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
4/29/25 Sunny has become available again. She was adopted from us 3 weeks ago but the family who adopted her is not able to keep her. When Sunny was in her foster home, there was a senior pug who Sunny was fine with. She would try to play with him, which he didn't want to play, so he would put Sunny in her place and that was that. On the weekends a Greyhound visited who Sunny loved to play with! In Sunny's adoptive home there are 2 smaller dogs (an older male Shih Tzu and a middle aged female Lhasa apso). Sunny has played too rough with them. Maybe it's because these dogs aren't putting Sunny in her place? Or maybe Sunny needs more exercise? We aren't sure, but we know that Sunny needs a new home. The owners granddog visits who is about the same size as Sunny and they do great together. She certainly gets along with other dogs, she just needs a dog who will match her energy or like the Pug in her foster home, who will tell Sunny no. Here's our original listing on Sunny: Sunny is about 28 lbs and 1 1/2- 2 years old. We are unsure of her breed, but the groomer thought she might be a Sapsali. Google says she looks very similar to that breed, and her size fits the breed standard, so it's possible, but we don't know. Sapsali isn’t an option on this website, hence she’s listed as a Schnauzer mix because some have said she looks like a Schnauzer mix. Sunny is a high-energy little girl and will require a secure fenced area. But don't let a fence lure you into a false sense of security with this one. She is an escape artist and will give you a run for your money if/when she escapes. She's not necessarily trying to leave and go anywhere. She's just a fun-loving gal who thinks it's a fun game. She might be a candidate for a tie out for quick potty breaks. Sunny loves other dogs. There aren't many dogs who can keep up with a Greyhound, but Sunny recently spent the weekend with a Greyhound friend, and he needed a 2 day nap when she left. See video in comments. She has been around cats and didn't bother them one bit, but again, the world is hers and everyone in it is just entertainment, so she will probably try to play with the cats and they may not appreciate her exuberance. Once Sunny has had enough entertainment, she will settle down for cuddles, and she enjoys that too, but her true love language is play. She would be a great companion for a family with kids and/or other dogs who will match her energy. She is sweet as she can be and never meets anyone she doesn't immediately love. She is fully vetted and ready to find a forever home! In New England.
