Print an adoption flyer for Malcolm! PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
Have you heard the phrase "like a bull in a China shop?" That's Malcolm. This big guy is a well meaning, goofy, dummy. He has more feelings than thoughts, which makes him all the more adorable. Malcolm is kind hearted and just...goofy. He loves everyone. Hes wonderful with other dogs, even the ones who are grumpy and want no part of his dumb-assery. Cats don't concern him, he just sniffs them and moves along. Malcolm was rescued from a high volume kill shelter, where he was in grave danger. He is in a foster where he is doing well, but his foster mom works full time and has limited time to devote to training. He really needs someone who can spend some time working with him. He also needs exercise. He can be destructive otherwise. Once he's had adequate exercise, he's a top notch cuddler and he loves to give kisses! He is housetrained. He walks on leash but pulls so he could use some work there as well. We believe he is an Akita mixed with a shorter coated breed. He has SO MUCH potential, but needs to learn some manners and basic obedience. He was originally adopted from the shelter by someone who had a friend that said they were interested in him, but then the friend backed out, so the person who got him from the shelter is fostering him, hoping we can find him a good home. We don't want to see this sweet boy go back to the shelter. Malcolm is only about a year old and weighs about 70 lbs.
