PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

Shelley is the most wonderful, loving girl you could ever ask for! She was on Craigslist, along with her puppies. Turns out, she had been a stray in the neighborhood for 2 years, living in an abandoned, delapidated house. When she had puppies, a resident in the neighborhood took pity on the puppies and took them in, placing an ad on craigslist to try to find homes for them. I was afraid they would all fall into the wrong hands, so I called and spoke to the person, asking her to hold the puppies until I could get there the following day. Unfortunately, even though she agreed, when I got there, she had given away all but 2 puppies. I took those 2 and Shelley in (there is no way I could take those puppies and leave Shelley to fend for herself!). The puppies have been adopted, but Shelley was in poor condition. She was very underweight and had lost much of her hair due to a flea infestation. Her hair is growing back beautifully now, and she is gaining weight. She is turning out to be a gorgeous girl, but what really makes her special is her personality. She is shy, but kind hearted, and very loving. She just acts like she doesn't know what to think when someone treats her with love and kindness. I'm sure she encountered terrible cruelty while she was on her own. Shelley hardly ever barks. She really loves other dogs and is very submissive with them. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. After being here for 2 months, she finally feels well enough, and is comfortable enough, that she is finally starting to play. This makes my heart sing - to see this sweet girl out there wagging her tail and bouncing around like a puppy! She is about 75lbs and I believe she is about 3 yrs old, but that is only a guess. Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
