PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

Henna is a sweet young mixed-breed female with soft hound eyes found hungry and wandering near a veterinary clinic.  We estimate her date of birth at September 2010.  We think she might be a beagle/terrier mix, but she looks almost like a little mini-boxer in the face.  She is fully-grown, stands about 19 inches at the shoulder, and weighs about 30 lb. Henna is spayed, fully-vaccinated, parasite negative and current on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.  Although somewhat shy and submissive initially, Henna has gained more confidence now that she is in a safe place.  She greets her humans with great enthusiasm, no longer cowering at their approach.  She is wonderful with young children.  She gets along with the other dogs at her new foster home, and likes to play, as long as they don't get too rough with her (she's considerably smaller than the other 10). She prefers one-on-one, rather than a group tussle.  She delights in running in the yard and chewing on Kong toys and chew bones.  She is overly "interested" in the household cats, doing better with the older ones who don't scamper.  She loves leash walking.  She is crate-trained and house-trained.  She sits for a treat and then gently takes it from your fingers.  Henna needs a gentle human to help her know how good and special she is.  She is sensitive to correction and responds well to gentle but firm discipline.  Henna is currently located in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted. Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
