PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

1/21/13  Sookie was rescued from a bad situation - her brothers and sisters were being purchased from the breeding facility she was born into, but she didnt look like the rest of them.  They were white and fluffy cute little shihtzu puppies, like their mom...some breeder, huh?  She was eventually cast out and taken to a kill shelter.  She wasn't good enough to sell.  Thankfully, a kind lady saw her, and offered to foster her if we would find her the wonderful forever home she deserves.

Sookie is right at 9 months old.  She had only know life in a cage prior to now, and is slowly learning to accept love and tenderness from people.  She will be fine once she finds a wonderful forever family.  Right now she is very aware and wary of what is going on around her, as you can see from the pictures.  You can also see the shihtzu in her muzzle and her eyes.

Sookie is current on all vaccinations and will be spayed soon.  She has probably reached the size that she will be as an adult.  She stands about halfway to knee level on a 5'4" person and weighs 15-20 pounds.  Sookie loves to ride in the car, and loves to play with the other puppies.  She gets along great with all the dogs, and is great with people, she's still a little scared.

Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
