PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

This sweet boy is Rufus. As I am sure you noticed in the pics that he currently has stitches running down the top of his head. Rufus was found as a stray by a nice man that contacted us for help. When we first saw him we had no idea what could have caused the swelling on his head and the streak down his face- the vet was at a lose also but we noticed that it didnt seem to bother him a bit and he had no physical problems due to it. When we had him neutered- the vet opened the wound and removed a huge amount of infection and was able to close it up and she said it will heal nicely now- but there may always be a scar. Rufus doesn't seem to know anything is different- he is a happy loving little guy and just wants to be loved. The vet estimated him to be about 6 to 7 months old. He will be a med to large dog when grown. We are guessing him to be a yellow lab mix. He is located in a foster home in New Hampshire. Rufus will make a wonderful addition to any family situation. Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
