About Slade

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

UPDATED 2/3/14

Slade is now located in a foster home in NH. He has been in our rescue program since March 2013, and just recently went to his foster home. He is living happily with 2 female dogs and a couple of cats, who he gets along very well with. Slade is house trained and loves to snuggle. He is a very affectionate boy and he enjoys play time with his doggy sisters. He would not do well in a home with another dominant male. Slade has recently been credited for saving his foster mom from a coyote attack, by guarding her and growling/barking viciously until the coyotes moved on. He is protective of those he loves. Slade is ready for a home of his very own. He loves people and just wants to be loved back. For more info, email Kelley.aasr@gmail.com

This is the facebook post that made me rescue Slade:

"Dear Somebody: My name is Slade. I live in a kennel behind a house. I was given to my mommy who was young and didn't have a place to live. Then she had a baby and dumped me off at her parents house when she realized I came with responsibilities. I live in a kennel behind a house and nobody has trained me or played with me in a while. A sweet woman who is 71 comes by and feeds me. She brings a little boy and he throws the food in my cage because he is too little and I'm rambunctious. I just want to love him but I'm too excited and I don't know how to control myself, because no one has taught me. My cage is filled with feces but the little boy throws my food in and it lands in my poop, but often I am hungry so I will eat it. This family can't take care of me. They have given me shelter, but I need a place to run and I need to get my shots and be healthy, with someone who has time to love me. Can you help me? I am about 1 year old. I need a home! A rescue! I need saved!"
