10/3/13 This is Andrea!Andrea came to us a very scared, malnourished and timid dog for her size. When she was found I feel that she was not healthy, and it took a toll on her. She was fed before we got her, but she was probably too afraid to eat. When we got her home, and put food in her bowl, she sniffed at it, but wouldn't take her eyes off us. She ate a little, but whenever we moved, she would stop. No matter how calming our voices were, she just didn't feel like she could trust us, and she didn't trust herself to relax. After an hour or so, she finally ate her food, we just sat still so she would eat. We got the leash to take her for a walk and she just fell to the floor. It looked like she was trying to dig deep down into it, it was as if she thought we were going to hit her. We took her for a walk, and it seemed like she ha never gone for a walk, she pulled and tugged the whole way. This was how she was the first day we received our foster pup. I call her a pup, even though she is around four years old because she acts like a puppy. She has been with us for a few months, but I feel she needed this, so that when her forever family come for her, she will be ready. Now, when you say it's time for dinner or "Are you hungry?" She finds her spot and sits waiting for her food. She won't move until you tell her it's okay to go eat. She thinks she's a lap dog, which of course she isn't, but show her love and that's what you'll get back. Open your heart and let her in, you will be so happy you did. Andrea is house trained and has gained so much confidence in her foster home, she is finally ready for her very own family to love her. She is healthy, spayed, and up to date on vet care. Andrea is in a foster home in MA.
