PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
12/16/13 Kori came to us as an abuse case. She had been slammed against a tree and suffered untold other abuse at the hands of her owner. A neighbor witnessed the owner encouraging his kids to run into Kori with their power wheels jeep. Kori needs someone to love her now, as she has been paralyzed in her rear legs. She is such an amazing, sweet girl, and she doesn't let her disability stop her. She has little use of her back legs but despite that, she gets around great, even going up and down stairs like it's nothing. She is 100% crate trained and has never had a single accident in her crate. She is not in any pain and she holds no grudges. Although her injuries were inflicted by the one she should have been able to trust, she still loves all people and would probably go back to the monster that did this to her, if given the opportunity. She is just so full of love and forgiveness, it amazes me every day how much love she has to give with all that she's been through. We have had Kori x-rayed and there are so many fractures to her hips/pelvis and femurs, there is really nothing that can be done now to fix her. She will probably never be able to use her back legs due to the severity of her injuries. Kori bears most of her weight on her front legs and shoulders, allowing her back feet to hover just above the ground, and they sort of bounce along the ground to help her keep balanced. She has learned to compensate really well. She also uses her rear legs like kickstands when she is taking care of her potty business and she has never made a mess on herself. She is an exceptionally clean dog. Despite the fact that she has this disability, she is going to make someone very happy with the love she will shower upon them, so don't dismiss her because of this! If you are looking for a loving, sweet, gentle companion, Kori is your girl. We estimate her to be about 1 year old, maybe a little less, and she is about 25lbs. She appears to be a border collie/terrier mix, and she is very intelligent. I believe she could be trained to do just about anything and she would be a good candidate for a doggy wheelchair cart if her new family so desires. Kori is a total love bug and any family will be very lucky to have such a great girl. She is located in Arkansas and will be transported to the northeast once adopted.
