PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
3/16/26 Faith Chihuahua 7-8 lbs 7 years old (estimate) Faith came to us a while back. She was a stray who was trying her best to survive on her own, but she was really struggling. She was skin and bones and covered in mange, and infected with heartworms as well as other parasites. Residents in the area said she had been on her own for a long time out there. I will never understand how people can see a little 7 lb dog on the street, struggling to survive, and not help her, but that's exactly the situation she was in. We have taken care of all of that, and she is now healthy and happy. Faith is a very small girl, about 7-8 lbs. She is older but we can't be sure whether she is truly a senior, or she just has the lasting effects of a hard life making her appear older than she is. We are estimating her age at about 7 years. This little baby is so incredibly sweet. Her only flaw is that when she is curled up under a blanket sleeping, she does not like to be disturbed! She will growl when someone approaches her while she is sleeping. She has never bitten anyone, but she acts like she will if you bother her while she is asleep. I believe she developed this behavior as a means to survive, protecting herself against the much larger strays in the area. Other than that, she is just the sweetest little girl. She probably would not be a good choice for a home with young kids. She does tend to be a little nervous natured, like most chihuahuas, so a calm, adult only home would be best for her. However, visiting children would be fine, as long as they know not to bother her while she is sleeping. She is in a foster home that includes a small human of 5 years old, and she has been fine with him, but he is respectful of her. I can see Faith being the PERFECT companion to a senior citizen or middle aged person who just wants a little dog for companionship. We hope to find her a loving home where she will never have to wonder if she will have another meal, and will never have to fight other dogs to get a morsel of food. If you can give her that, please let us know! She is ready to meet you!
Faith is located in Arkansas and can be adopted locally, or she can transport to the New England area if adopted there. If adopted in New England, her adopter will need to pick her up (or arrange for a trusted friend/family to pick him up) on a Saturday in PA, NY, or CT. Residents of other states may adopt as well, as long as they can meet our transporter along their route.
